One app to manage your crypto

Ledger Live is the official desktop & mobile application for Ledger hardware wallets. It provides a unified dashboard to monitor balances, add accounts, send/receive assets, buy/swap, stake, and keep your device firmware up to date while keeping your private keys on your Ledger device.

Security-first design

All sensitive operations (signing transactions, entering PIN) happen on your Ledger device — never in the app. Ledger Live acts as the user-friendly manager and interface, while the device remains the secure root of trust.

Quick start: Install & open Ledger Live

  1. Download only from the official site. Go to the official Ledger Live download page and choose Desktop or Mobile. Always verify the domain and digital signatures if available.
  2. Install the app. Follow platform prompts for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS or Android.
  3. Open Ledger Live. On welcome screen choose Get started to set up a new device or restore an existing one.
Tip:

Never enter or share your 24-word recovery phrase with any app or person. Ledger staff will never ask for it.

Connect & log in with your Ledger device

Step-by-step

  1. Connect your Ledger device with the official cable and unlock it with your PIN.
  2. Open Ledger Live and allow the app to detect your device.
  3. Choose Allow on the device when prompted to grant Ledger Live access (if needed).
  4. Add accounts: go to Accounts > +, pick the crypto asset and follow the on-screen instructions to install the required app on your device.

Troubleshooting

If Ledger Live does not detect your device, try a different USB port/cable, enable browser support where applicable, or consult the support guides for driver and permissions fixes.

Keeping Ledger Live & your device up to date

Regularly update Ledger Live and your device firmware. Ledger Live shows update notifications in the app; firmware updates must be applied via the device and the Manager in Ledger Live. Keeping both updated ensures you have the latest security patches and coin support.

Backup & recovery

Make sure your recovery phrase is written down and stored offline in a safe place. Consider using a steel backup for long-term safety.
